The baroque in the current neo-baroque

Abstract

This brief paper attempts to establish the relationship and the differences between the historic baroque and the return of the baroque (neo-baroque) in our current culture and thoughts (postmodern), It can be seen the contrast between both moments around the symbolic function. Present in the former, absent and probably impossible in the latter. To solve such absence it is proposed to recover the concept of “analogicity” as a way to reincorporate to the contemporary world the need and strength of the symbolic.
